Movement makes your body happy at any age. But if you’re healing from an injury or trying to increase your mobility, it’s helpful to have a professional to lean on. With the right attitude, any body composition can be trained, and at A.C.T. by Deese, we’re ready to make a difference. Since 2007, our owners Gina and Prince Deese, and our hardworking team of trainers have helped change lives with their professional fitness training and post-surgery rehabilitation services. When you’re with us, you can work out at your own pace, enjoy individualized training, and try fun group classes while improving your quality of life. Regardless of your fitness goals, A.C.T. is happy to support our clients and watch our community get stronger every day.
As the owner and head trainer of A.C.T., I am happy to bring my hometown of Greensboro one of the most complete fitness studios available in the area. The opening of this facility is the culmination of a lifetime interest and professional preparation that offers Greensboro residents the opportunity to have “the best of their life for the rest of their life”.
From my earlier years at Ragsdale High School, and throughout my degree program in Physical Education at Elon University, personal training and fitness were first and foremost in my life goals. My extensive professional sports background includes All American Wrestler, Hall of Fame Wrestler, All American Football Player, Hall of Fame Football Player and State Champion Body Builder. I have continued to extend my preparation by obtaining the necessary fitness certifications. These certifications not only enhance my skills as a trainer but guarantee clients the appropriate safe and healthy leadership needed for their own fitness programs. My fitness certifications include:
Idea Personal Training
CSCS Strength and Conditioning
ASCM Association
IRHSA
CPR Certified
Participant in Phil Kaplan and Kelli Calabrese Global Trainers Focus Group 2010
2013 Piedmont-Triad Business Ethics Award
2016 Torch Award For Marketplace Ethics (BBT)
My own training began as a hobby of self improvement leading toward a career in professional football. Following a major injury, I began to develop an interest in rehabilitation by spending my time assisting other injured athletes. It soon became apparent that my skills and knowledge in the industry could benefit people from all facets of life. Now, with 29 years of experience, my clientele includes personalities ranging in ages from 10 to 90 years old; many from an extensive special needs population, some total family memberships, and multiple professional athletes whose careers are dependent upon maintaining health and fitness.
Together with my wife, Gina, we welcome all who visit our club. We look forward to helping you discover how an exercise program designed to meet your individual needs can increase your quality of life!
2010 Winner of Greensboro Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Award, I graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Communications, a personal training certification, and completed my MBA from the University of Phoenix in September 2009. My background led to a career in the pharmaceutical industry and extensive time among the health care community. Originally from Southern Westchester, N.Y., and having lived in both Maryland and Virginia before moving to Greensboro, North Carolina, I currently serve as the business manager for A.C.T. and part-time trainer at the Greensboro facility. Often I serve in the role of senior fitness instructor, and I work closely with the Silver Sneakers program. The combination of communications, health, fitness experience and business management do not supersede my focus on personal interest in the A.C.T. clients. It is my personal touch and friendly approach that brings the A.C.T. family together to provide a comfortable atmosphere, warm welcome and individualized interest upon which the business is based.
Joshua Prevette is a certified Master Fitness Trainer with the IFTA. In his over fifteen years of training, he has trained everyone from professional athletes to rehabilitation patients.
